Yacht manufacturers in particular often operate within a complex, international legal environment. Buyers’ places of residence, manufacturing locations and delivery destinations are frequently distant and are subject to different and sometimes highly divergent legal jurisdictions and interfaces within a multi-layered universe. Human interaction may also lead to friction, and it is also common for fire-fighting situations to arise.
We are specialists with a special affinity for yachts who do not see jurisprudence as an end in itself. We very much view the law as a regulatory and structural framework for smooth corporate organisation on the part of all involved. Although we put our faith in process consultancy, mediation, common sense, the exchange of views and reaching compromise, we do not shy away from legal confrontation if all the former are to no avail.
